A poem by Shel Silverstein

PUT SOMETHING IN

Draw a crazy picture,
Write a nutty poem,
Sing a mumble-grumble song,
Whistle through your comb.
Do a loony-goony dance
'Cross the kitchen floor,
Put something silly in the world
That ain't been there before.

the end

I love his poetry, I have since I was a little girl.
It's simple, clever, and fun.
It makes you feel good.
It doesn't make any sense, but it does.
This poem in particular stuck with me today.
Doesn't it just make you want to be silly?
Even if just for a moment of your day?

There, we just put something in.
