The Room (film)

The Room is a 2003 drama film written and directed by its main actor, Tommy Wiseau, who is also credited on screen as both the movie's producer and executive producer. The principal cast includes Wiseau, Juliette Danielle, Greg Sestero, Philip Haldiman, Carolyn Minnott, and Robyn Paris. The Room tells the melodramatic story of a love triangle between a man, his fiancée, and his best friend.

Without any studio support, Wiseau spent over US$6 million on production and marketing for the film. Wiseau promotes the film as a black comedy and insists that its humor is actually intentional, although a cast member has anonymously disputed these claims and many audience members generally view the film as a poorly made drama.

The Room has been cited by some critics as one of the worst films ever made, and has been called "the Citizen Kane of bad movies." After a brief run in Los Angeles, the film went on to develop a cult following and continues to have midnight screenings around the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand and Denmark.

Lemon Cupcakes with Fresh Blackberry Buttercream

I have serious spring fever and these cupcakes were the perfect solution! While it was raining outside, I was enoying the wonderful flavors of lemon and blackberries. It didn't quite have the affect of a spring day but a girl can dream right?

I do have one confession and that is that I used a boxed lemon cake mix. I thought it went well with the homemade frosting but you are more than welcome to use your own homemade recipe if you have it! Here is the frosting recipe:

Ingredients:

• 1 stick of butter
• 3 cups powdered sugar
• 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
• 3 tbsp blackberry puree, strained

Directions:

1. Place blackberries in the bowl of a small food processor; process until pureed. Over another bowl, hold a fine mesh strainer and strain the puree. In the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, beat butter on medium speed until light and fluffy. Reduce mixer speed and slowly add confectioners' sugar; beat until well combined. Add vanilla and 3 tablespoons blackberry puree (save any remaining strawberry puree for another use); mix until just blended. Do not overmix or frosting will incorporate too much air. Frosting consistency should be dense and creamy, like ice cream.

What color eyes does a goose have?

The questions from my 5 year old are flying at me faster than I can keep up:
"Does a squid have lungs or gills?"
"How many eggs does a Platypus lay?"
"How does a cat drink water without it spilling from it's mouth?"
"What is the defense mechanism of a Walrus?"
"Why do female ducks look different than males?"
"Why do Octopus squirt ink?"

At first it was really overwhelming for me, especially to think that my child actually believed that I knew all these answers! I started keeping a running list on the kitchen counter, of all the things he was asking me, so I could look them up and tell him later. Wouldn't that make me look so smart? ha ha. But that really isn't the point, is it?
These past few months a light has ignited within our 5 year old, spreading into a giant, burning, bonfire, of learning more about everything animals!

It has been really exciting to see him begin to focus on learning about something he feels truly passionate about.
I just keep thinking over and over, "So this is when the homeschooling fun begins!"

Well, our goal is really to help him learn how he can expand on that passion to learn more. I don't want to provide all the answers. I couldn't even if I wanted to! I want him to reach out into the world and find the resources he needs to learn more, get excited more, and do more!

It is all just really cool.



Some things we have been doing to enhance his desires, and encourage him to learn:
Observing animals in natural habitats and farms,
Reading animal books from the library,
Watching animal-nature movies and TV shows,
Frequent trips to the Zoo,
Keeping an animal-science journal,
Incorporating animal facts and stories into everyday life
Pretending to be animals and putting on puppet shows
Talking about our personal experiences with animals (With an ex-zookeeper Dad, that isn't too hard, and Zadok adores all his animal stories.)


But most importantly, we are allowing him the freedom to learn all these things with his own creativity attached! You see, one of his sole motivations in learning more about animals, is because he wants to build "creature power suits". He is pretty serious about it, and it is no laughing matter in our house. He is collecting the data he needs to build the greatest, most powerful creature power suits in the world!

And every morning when I wake up, I don't know what animal he will be
pretending to be that day. Will he be a duck, a wombat, a shark, an alligator? Usually something with a great defense mechanism.

I love this. I love all of it! I love that the excitement to learn more about animals from our 5 year old son, has involved the whole family to learn and get excited, together. I mean, I never imagined that I would be so intrigued to know that a Platypus is one of two mammals in the world that lays eggs and makes milk! But, it's cool! And homeschooling is cool, too. :)

Courteney Cox Denies That She Is Dating Co-Star Josh Hopkins

The American Actress Courteney Cox has denied that she is dating her 'Cougar Town' co-star Josh Hopkins.

Courteney Cox, who separated from her husband David Arquette back in October 2010, has denied that she is dating Josh Hopkins, despite the pair being photographed on holiday together, reports People Magazine.

The 46-year-old Cox was spotted with Hopkins and her 6-year-old daughter Coco on a Caribbean beach on Tuesday, 29th March 2011, fuelling speculation that the pair are an item. However, Cox's representative immediately denied that she is romantically involved with her co-star, saying, The relationship is strictly platonic and they are away with a group of friends on vacation.

A source on the 'Cougar Town' set echoed the statement, saying, Courteney and Josh are great friends. There's definitely nothing going on there. The actress split with husband Arquette shortly after they had finished filming the forthcoming horror movie 'Scream 4'.The actor later admitted to a number of infidelities and checked himself into rehab.

Courteney Cox is currently starring in season two of her hit sitcom 'Cougar Town'. On 10th January 2011, The Abc announced that the show would be renewed for a third series.

David Sokol's TV Interview Since Resigned From Berkshire Hathaway

The Berkshire Hathaway executive, David Sokol sat down with CNBC this morning, in his first extended TV interview since he resigned from Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway.

Sokol said In the interview, his decision to resign this week wasn’t related to his purchases and sales of stock in Lubrizol, a company he helped convince Warren Buffett to purchase. Berkshire’s $9 billion acquisition of Lubrizol was announced just weeks ago.

Instead, Sokol said a resignation has been in my mind for about 2 1/2 years. He said, as Buffett said in his remarkable letter last night that he had tried to quit twice before but was talked out of it. Sokol said it was probably a mistake to decide to stick around at Berkshire the last time around.



Sokol also said he bought Lubrizol stock because he thought it was a good investment, and had no idea whether Buffett would bite on his idea to take over the maker of industrial lubricants and additives.

I didn’t know something others didn’t know about Lubrizol, said Sokol.

The Actress Angelina Jolie will join the ranks of Sarah Palin, Oprah Winfrey and Hillary Clinton who've had their lives portrayed in a comic.

Brent Sprecher of Publishers Bluewater Productions said, he wrote the comic to highlight Angelina Jolie as a mother, actress and humanitarian.

He said, I learned a great deal about her struggles and triumphs as an actress, mother and humanitarian.

Often painted as an edgy, slightly dangerous movie star, what is often not revealed about Jolie is her tireless commitment to charity work and her dedication to the plight of refugees around the world as a Goodwill Ambassador with the United Nations.

He said, my hope is that this biography, in some small way, inspires others to follow Angelina Jolie’s example and make helping those in need a part of their daily lives.

Judge Judy Rushed To Hospital With Stomach Pains

Judge Judy, was rushed to hospital today with stomach pains after complaining to her TV crew she was not feeling well.

A receptionist at the Judge Judy show, Vanessa Pineda, confirmed to KTLA that Judy Sheindlin, 68, left the studios, but described the incident as a family emergency.

judge was feeling nauseous and had some intestinal discomfort and decided to go to the hospital to get it checked out, Judge Judy's rep, Gary Rosen, told RadarOnline.com.

I'm just exhausted, and my body was telling me it need a day to chill. Judge Judy later told TMZ.

judge (68) was taken from the KTLA Studios in Hollywood but is expected make a full recovery.

A source close to the situation told RadarOnline, She was just sitting on the stand during her show taping and she started saying things that didn't make any sense.

The TV star Judge said, I need to stop, I'm not feeling well.

Mrs Judge was apparently only two cases into her taping when her unusual behaviour prompted her to stop and a crew member dialled 911.

The fiery legal eagle told Harvey Levin, I was feeling funky this morning, funky enough that I knew someone should give a gander over what I got.

I'm really fine. I wanted to go back to work this afternoon. I'm exhausted. I'm just tired. A lot of things just zoned together, including the bad news of the world, She added.

At my age, I know my body. My body is fine.

Judge Judy underwent an MRI scan and doctors are doing a few more tests before she is released. I'm gonna go home tomorrow. It was a bad idea to fly home tonight, she said.

It is being reported that Judge Judy's trip to the emergency room is related to an oral surgery she underwent yesterday, RadarOnline are reporting.

The show insider said, she had oral surgery late Tuesday and didn't eat all day before the procedure and she had to take pain medication.

She was told to take the day off but she said, 'No, no I'll work, the source added.

Although she is well and is not experiencing anything serious, she said her one regret about going to the hospital today is that she will miss visitors who have come to Los Angeles to see her.

She said some people from Las Vegas were visiting her this afternoon to talk about a new Judge Judy slot machine, reports RadarOnline.

The meeting will be put on hold for a week until the judge is fully recovered.

Judge Judy is married to fellow Judge Jerry Sheindlin who she has been with for over 33 years.

Parmesan, black bean, tomato, and olive Couscous

We love Couscous around here! It is made from a healthy grain (wheat), is really quick to cook (5 minutes), and is affordable! The boys usually like it served plain, with just the flavors of bullion and butter. I like to spice mine up with whatever I find in my cupboards!

I came up with this recipe a few months ago, and it has been a hit at several potlucks we've attended since. (On St. Paddy's day I dyed it green!)

Couscous:
2 cups dry Couscous
3 cups water
2 tbs butter
2 tspns flavored bullion

Boil water with butter, and bullion. Once water is bubbling, add Couscous. Stir until combined, turn off stove and let sit until fluffy (about 2 mins)
Pour warm Couscous into large bowl, let cool, then refrigerate until chilled.

Couscous salad:
1 can Black beans
2 tomatoes
1 bunch cilantro
1 can black olives
"Newman's Own" Parmesan Garlic dressing.

Combine everything together with a large spoon, then add about 1/2 cup of dressing.
Enough Couscous to feed a large family, or friends at a potluck, or Couscous salad for me, for days!

Mila Kunis Says Natalie Portman Danced Her Her A** Off

The actress Mila Kunis has jumped to the aid of the Natalie Portman body double controversy. Last week Natalie Portman's body double Sarah Lane denied that Portman did most of the work. Portman's fiance who also choreographed the film and the film's producer all jumped to defend Natalie. Now her co-star Mila Kunis shares her two cents.

Kunis told Entertainment Weekly, Natalie danced her a** off. "I think it's unfortunate that this is coming out and taking attention away from the praise, Natalie deserved and got. It was more like a safety net. If Nat wasn't able to do something, you'd have a safety net.

The same thing that I had, I had a double as a safety net. We all did. No one ever denied it.

The 'Black Swan' director Darren Aronofsky also shared his views.

The reality, Aronofsky said in a statement released Monday through studio Fox Searchlight. I had my editor count shots. There are 139 dance shots in the film, 111 are Natalie Portman untouched, 28 are her dance-double Sarah Lane. If you do the math, that's 80 percent Natalie Portman.

So the co-star Mila Kunis in Portman's corner, things are not looking good for Sarah Lane's body double career.

Brock Lesnar Rearing To Win Back His UFC Title

Fighter Brock Lesnar is making no mistake about his dedication to UFC, despite his brutalizing defeat at the hands of Cain Velasquez in UFC 121 in October 2010.

He noted, I know people think because I lost my last UFC fight to Cain Velasquez that I want to go back to wrestling, but I'm here in UFC with the goal of winning back my title. And I applaud the man for it.

Lesnar's stunning UFC career took a turn for the worse in October, which saw Velasquez catch Lesnar with an uppercut and send him sprawling to the ground in the heavyweight title fight.

But he remains committed to the sport he loves, and that type of dedication deserves praise.

Brock Lesnar will be trailed on the hit show 'Ultimate Fighte' as a coach opposite Junior Dos Santos in Season 13 which begins Wednesday.

And he will once again get a chance to step into the ring with Dos Santos at the end of the season, a win propelling him to another title rematch with Velasquez.

But regardless of what happens along the way, Lesnar is showing he deserves to be a face of the sport, his passion evident now more than ever.

There's a sentiment out there that goes something like, It's not what you do when you're on top, it's what you do when you have nothing.

Lesnar is proving, despite being battered by Velasquez, that his love for the game is still there, but, beyond that, his heart is just as strong as always.

That kind of perseverance and fortitude demands respect, regardless of what he does in the ring against Dos Santos.

He's currently a huge underdog in the upcoming fight with Dos Santos slated for June 11, but that doesn't seem to be fazing him.

Brock Lesnar won't return to wrestling because he's found his new love, and he's not going anywhere, folks.

The Alias star Jennifer Garner is set to bring Agatha Christie's Miss Marple back to life in a new big screen re-imagining of the famous detective stories.

Jennifer will play a younger version of the elderly spinster sleuth in a new Disney movie based on Christie's famous book series.

The Miss Marple has made numerous appearances in films and TV shows over the years and she has previously been portrayed by actresses including Dame Margaret Rutherford, Joan Hickson and Angela Lansbury.

Jennifer Garner will produce the new movie with her Vandalia Films production company, according to Deadline.com.

After all, with Maria about to enter the permanent stage of her WAG career, their dreams of someday marrying the former world No. 1 tennis player were going up in smoke.

However, there is a glimmer of hope for them now, after Maria told that she and Vujacic, best known for his headbands and three-point shooting skills, had not set a wedding date as of yet.

Maria told the gossip website that she and Sasha are still extremely young, and that they're not rushing into anything.

While Maria seems deeply in love with Vujacic, her delaying the move to permanent WAG status comes as little surprise. After all, Sasha's Nets are in the midst of a furious charge at the playoffs, and he needs to focus on waving his towel and cheering on Deron Williams.

Maria Sharapova, meanwhile, looks locked in on her goal of regaining the swagger that made her one of the best tennis players in the world early in her career, before injuries derailed what was looking like a promising career.

The American pop superstar Britney Spears launched her new album 'Femme Fatale' with a free concert for 5,000 fans on 27th March 2011.

Britney Spears, whose recent single 'Hold It Against Me' topped the Billboard Hot 100, gave her first televised performance for over a year with a free show in San Francisco on 27th March, reports the UK's Metro.

Britney had performed a secret gig in Las Vegas on Friday, but last night's performance was exclusively taped for Tuesday's instalment of Good Morning America.

The show began with the 29-year-old emerging from a box wearing a skimpy leather bodysuit and police hat, before performing an energetic dance routine.

Britney then wowed the crowds with three risque costume changes, including a black lacy leotard and a silver sequined number.

Later in the show, the singer danced on what appeared to be an electric chair, whilst telling the audience, I love music. It's my world, it's my everything.

Britney Spears seventh studio album 'Femme Fatale' hits shelves in the U.S. today, 29th March 2011.

The record's second single, 'Till The World Ends', debuted at number-twenty on the Billboard Hot 100, before selling 158,000 copies in its second week and climbing to number-nine.

The Daytime Emmy winner’s memoir, All My Life, hits the shelves later this month.

Lucci said of the tome, It’s been a labor of love.

Amy Adams Set To Play Journalist Lois Lane In The 'Superman' Remake

Amy Adams may not have earned the Best Supporting Actress Oscar this year, but she sure is a fighter.

The star might have another shot at scoring an Academy Award, as she is set to play journalist Lois Lane in the 'Superman' remake.

According to the Los Angeles Times, Adams learned she’d landed the role on Sunday, when director Zack Snyder called her from Paris, France. Judging by Snyder’s comments, The Fighter” actress was exactly what he envisioned for the portrayal of Lois Lane.

Snyder said, there was a big, giant search for Lois. For us it was a big thing and obviously a really important role. We did a lot of auditioning but we had this meeting with Amy Adams and after that I just felt she was perfect for it.

Snyder didn’t dish out many plot details, but said Lois Lane would be a significant part of the film.

What’s important to us is making [the character of Superman] relevant and real and making him empathetic to today’s audience so that we understand the decisions he makes, said Snyder. That applies to Lois as well. She has to be in the same universe as him in tone and substance.

Though she immersed into the film industry in the late 90s, Adams truly made a name for herself in the entertainment world in recent years. In 2009, she played unsatisfied Julie Powell in 'Julie and Julia', which is based on a lost woman’s journey of making every meal from Julia Child’s 'Mastering the Art of French Cooking' book.

Amy was nominated for Academy Awards for her roles in films 'Doubt' and 'Junebug'. In 2007, she portrayed a perpetually perky, bright-eyed woman who steps right out of a cartoon fairy tale into eye-opening New York City in 'Enchanted'.

Katie Couric Offered To Become A regular Correspondent On 60 Minutes Job

Katie Couric has been offered the chance to become a regular correspondent on '60 Minutes'. Katie Couric, the American news anchor who is stepping down from her evening job on Cbs, has been offered to chance to join '60 Minutes' as a regular correspondent, reports the New York Post.

A regular spot on the Sunday night show is reportedly part of the package being offered to Couric if she'll agree to stay and front a daytime talk show for Cbs. Her current deal with the network expires in June 2011.

Katie began producing interviews and behind-the-scenes stories for '60 Minutes' when the program attempted to branch out from its 22-minute evening newscast and now the show's bosses are keen to offer the 54-year-old something permanent.

A spokesman for Couric last night declined to comment on the specifics of the offer from '60 Minutes', but did say, Katie's on vacation this week. Hopefully, the speculation about Katie can take a week off, too.

Meanwhile, the rumours concerning Katie Couric's 'Evening News' successor have begun to circulate, with '60 Minutes' own Scott Pelley emerging as the possible frontrunner.

The Reality star Kate Gosselin celebrates her 36th birthday today.

The former 'Dancing with the Stars' contestant enjoyed an early birthday celebration in New York City last week with a few friends and a camera crew.

Kate Gosselin was reportedly on the prowl with a mini black cocktail dress, chatting up a lot of guys according to Page Six.

But Kate may not be in a major rush to get serious, though she's been dodging questions about a dating show starring Kate.

Kate appears to be cautious in the dating scene saying recently,

She said, I’ve been on a few little dates here and there but I have eight kids already. I don’t need nine.
